Nokia a Finnish mobile giant has unleashed a new touch screen Smartphone in the form of Nokia C6. It is the second member of the Nokia’s C series. The Nokia C6 looks like a trimmed version of N97. With inclusion of sliding QWERTY keyboard, it will be liked by heavy texters. It features 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, resistive touch screen, good battery, social networking, and 5 megapixel camera. Now, let’s look at the more detail of information about Nokia C6.

Design
To look at initially, the C6 resembles many recent Nokia devices that also boasted a touch screen, such as the 5800. The difference is that the C6 does not rely just on the touch display for data entry, with the inclusion of a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The keys on the keypad are of a good size, and text entry shouldn’t be an issue. Closed up the device measures in at a respectable 113 x 53 x 17mm, and weighs in at the top end of the acceptable scale at 150g. The touch display is a TFT screen, supporting up to 16 million colors, with a pixel resolution of 360 x 640 and measuring 3.2 inches across. The display has a built in auto rotate option, which kicks in when the QWERTY keyboard is opened, as well as within applications that support this feature on the device, such as the web browser. A proximity sensor disables the screen when in call, to stop you accidentally activating apps or undesired in call features.
Nokia C6’s features
The Nokia C6 is running on the Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5. It is pretty much same as other Nokia Symbian phones. The Symbian has lost its sheen with the market is ruled by Android and other smartphones OS. However, the Symbian OS has done a good job her. The Menu system, Icons and interface is very nice.
And its data is saved on a micro SD / SDHC flash memory card that can be inserted in the card slot that can be found on the side of the Nokia C6 handset. Officially, 16GB is named as the maximum storage capacity, but most likely the maximum storage capacity for micro SDHC, namely 32GB, will also be supported. The Nokia C6 phone also has wireless LAN built-in, and VPS and 3G support.
At in multimedia function, the C6 includes a 5.0 Megapixel camera, with autofocus and LED flash, with face and smile detection options available in the settings menu. Video recording is enabled, and there is a front facing camera for face to face video calls over 3G.
General media support on the phone is strongly represented, with a stereo FM radio with RDS included, plus a media player which supports multiple formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, eAAC+, WMV and MP4. The layout of the music player is very intuitive, and adding additional playlists to those automatically available is a simple process. But, I find that this Symbian smartphone could not play all video or audio format file. Could I rip DVD to this phone supports format? I search this question on Google and find good software named Nideosft DVD to Nokia Converter. It could help you to convert DVD movie to many Nokia video formats: 3GP, MP4, MP3, WMV, etc., which could be played on your Nokia mobile phone, such as Nokia 5800, Nokia N95, Nokia 5320 XM, Nokia E71, etc.. almost all the Nokia mobile phone family. At the same time, Nidesoft Nokia Video Converter provides perfect solution for you to convert your favorite video files to Nokia mobile phone format, preserving the best quality of picture and sound. This movie converter software could support almost all source formats, including MOD, MPEG-1, VOB, MP4, M4V, WMV, ASF, AVI, 3GP, FLV, YouTube, etc..
The handset also has a built in GPS receiver, which allows you to add location information to captured images via geotagging, and also allows you to use the device as a portable SatNav device, with full a GPS support. Nokia OVI Maps is available, which gives you full access to voice turn by turn navigation, for free. The web browser on the handset is very capable, and presents most web pages well. Kinetic scrolling allows you to flick through long web pages, and support for Flash Lite 3.0 is also included.
Review
The C6 may not have high-end features or run the latest software, but its estimated price of 220 Euros before tax and subsidy will be a great draw for mass-market consumers. The Nokia C6 will be available in either Black or White, and should start shipping before the end of the current quarter. Although the features of the handset clash with other Nokia devices in the mid tier market, the aggressive pricing point should help to ensure that the device sells in good numbers, and will be a particularly attractive option on many free gift and half price line rental deals

Android and iPhone are always old rivals. So, not long after Apple Company released iPhone 4G, HTC released the HTC Evo 4G. But when the iPhone 4 hits retail shelves it will have to battle a gaggle of Android devices for consumer attention — the most significant of which is the HTC Evo. The Evo has one big advantage that Apple can’t beat. It runs on Sprint’s 4G networks, while the iPhone is stuck on AT&T’s 3G service. Sprint 4G, though, is not available in most major cities, including San Francisco and New York. If you are considering upgrading to the latest version of the iPhone or getting an Android device, take a look at how the iPhone 4 and HTC Evo 4G compare

Display
iPhone 4G: 4.5*2.31*0.37 inches with 3.5 inch screen and 960*640 pixel resolution. Apple's designers have also gone a more angular route, switching the old iPhone's rounded back for something completely flat and made from the same aluminosilicate glass material as the front panel. The new design aesthetic is topped off with a stainless steel border around the entire device.
HTC EVO 4G: 4.8*2.6*0.5 inches with 4.3 inch screen and  WVGA 800*480 pixel resolution. The EVO is big - relatively speaking. And unlike the iPhone, it features a rounded back with softer edges, a protruding camera lens, as well as a built-in stand for propping the device up on surfaces.
Operating System
We know, iPhone 4G’s system is iOS and HTC EVO 4G is Android.
Apple’s iOS undoubtedly lacks the flexible open ecosystem of Android, which allows software like game console emulators that Apple has banned, but Apple holds the upper hand in selection, boasting 225,000 third-party apps to Android’s 70,000 or so, at last count. The latest release also alleviates some of the most frequent complaints about previous versions, like the lack of multitasking and folders for apps.
Connectivity
That “4G” in the EVO’s name isn’t just for kicks, although we happen to think it rolls off the tongue nicely. It’s actually the first phone in North America to ride on a blazing fast 4G network.
How much faster? HTC claims 10 times, but that’s based on comparing the very slowest end of average 3G speeds (600 Kbps to 1.7 Mbps), to the high end of its own 4G claims (3 to 6 Mbps). That said, even 3 Mbps is more than you could ever hope to wring from most 3G phones, and the EVO 4G can do things that the iPhone 4 just won’t, like videoconferencing without a Wi-Fi connection.
Camera
Both the iPhone 4 and EVO 4G sport both back cameras for snapping photos and front cameras for video conferencing. The EVO 4G gets the sharper vision on primary cam, shooting at 8 megapixels to Apple’s 5 megapixels, and on the front-facing cam, which shoots 1.3 megapixels to Apple’s VGA (0.3 megapixel) cam. Higher resolution doesn’t always mean a better camera, but we’ll have to give the EVO 4G the upper hand until launch time. The EVO 4G also supports a dual-LED flash rather than a single-LED flash, potentially making it more potent for night-time shooting.
For video, both cameras are capable of high-def 720p recording, but the iPhone 4 can shoot at a full 30 frames per second while the EVO 4G can only do 25.
And on the other aspect – Multimedia, with its’ build-in powerful multimedia player, iPhone 4G supports lots of audio and video formats. Such as: audio formats: AAC, Protected AAC, HE-AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible, Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV. and video formats: H.264, up to 720 high-definition at a constant frames per second, Main profile up to level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 kbps, 48khz, stereo audio in .M4V, .MP4, and .MOV file formats; with ulaw audio format and PCM stereo audio in. AVI file format. And HTC EVO 4G’ player also supports a respectable range of audio and video formats. But, I find smartphones could not play DVD, including both phones. If you want to play DVD with smartphones, you may use Nidesoft DVD Ripper which helps you convert DVD to all popular video or audio formats easily to convert DVD files into your favorite smartphone compatible formats or you have some video or audio files which your phone could not support in some case, you may select Nidesoft Video Converter to convert all other video files into your phones. It is powerful video conversion software which could convert video and audio files between all popular formats. With these two assistant software, you may enjoy your DVD or any video and audio files in your favorite smartphone at anytime and anywhere.
Storage
The EVO 4G comes with an 8GB microSD card preinstalled, but you can potentially expand it up to 32GB with a larger card. Unfortunately, 32GB models remain quite rare and you’ll need to drop at least $200 for one. By contrast, the least expensive ($200) iPhone 4 comes with 16GB of built-in memory, and it only costs $100 to upgrade to 32GB. The iPhone 4 wins on all accounts.
Battery Life
HTC hasn’t released complete battery life estimates for the EVO 4G, but we managed to get six hours of only on-and-off 4G data usage, while Apple claims the iPhone 4 will do six solid hours on 3G. Talk time also seems to suffer, with HTC claiming 360 minutes on the EVO 4G and Apple claiming 420 on the iPhone 4.
Price:
The EVO is available from Sprint right now for $199 if you sign up for a two-year contract, Premium Data plan, and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Sprint's plans range from $69.99 for unlimited data and 450 anytime minutes, up to $189.99 for an unlimited family plan that includes two lines. The required 'Premium Data' plan costs another $10 per month.
Apple will be releasing the iPhone 4 on June 24 to the tune of $199 for the 16GB model, and $299 for the 32GB model, both with two-year AT&T Contracts. Their plans range from $39.99 - $69.99 a month for voice and $15.00 - $25.00 a month for data. Or, if you've got the money, you can buy the iPhone 4 with no contract for $599 (16 GB) and $699 (32 GB)
Conclusion
HTC’s biggest bragging point – 4G connectivity – proves to be less of an advantage in real life than on paper after factoring in real-life network speeds and issues with 4G battery life. It also has a small leg up on the iPhone 4 in camera resolution, but less fluid 25fps HD recording also helps diminish that minimal edge. Meanwhile, the iPhone 4 is substantially smaller, has a higher resolution screen, and offers more storage for the money. So, which one do you like? You may select it by yourself.

Motorola recently announced the Flipout phone which is an Android 2.1 based smartphone with a square-shaped design. The Motorola Flipout is the latest mobile device in a line of Motorola phones attempting to push the envelope in style, interaction, and form factor by using innovative and sometimes outrageous-looking designs. Everyone all over the word pay attention to this phone, so do I. I got that this phone have the below main functions:

Design
As the latest MOTOROLA phone with Android system,  MOTOROLA Flipout, takes the most attractive places is obviously not possess the function, and how the machine have square appearance and rotating design. Although this design is not the first, but the MOTOROLA Flipout has 45 keys in all the keyboard but truly unique similar type, add up to seven color selection machine, not only for young people reflects the positioning, and believe that will make many fashion expert at first sight. The Flipout goes one step further in its unique design and hides the QWERTY keyboard until you pivot the phone open—in the same manner you might fan out a deck of cards. Pivoting the Flipout open reveals a five-row QWERTY keypad with a separate row specifically for numbers, and transforms it from a tiny, pocket-sized screen to a full mobile phone. When closed, the Flipout measures just 67 x 67 x 17 mm and weighs only 120g.
Main features:
As a young people for the social cell phones, MOTOROLA Flipout has a good standard in the wireless network function. It is not only support GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSDPA network, but also has Wi-Fi /WAPI wireless LAN users to function, let more ways to connect to the Internet. For other functions of mobile phones, MOTOROLA not only has GPS navigation and electronic compass function, as well as a traditional 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, with 512MB RAM, 256MB ROM and support bluetooth technology and memory expansion function, etc.
Like other social media services, Motoblur gathers incoming and outgoing feeds from your friends, emails, text and multimedia messages, and Facebook, Myspace and Twitter updates and events and combines them into a stream with continuous updates. Likewise, Motoblur merges your entire home and work contacts with corresponding information and conversations to let you see your interactions with each person in your address book. However, in addition to providing a stream of updates and organized correspondence, Motoblur also offers backups of your social data which is fairly unique among social networking services. Furthermore, the new enhanced version of Motoblur provides more direct control of the Happenings and Messages widgets, allowing you to filter out updates and messages that aren’t important to you so you’re left with the most relevant info about your friends and what is happening. Keep in touch with your friends via instant, text, and multimedia messaging or utilize corporate and personal email clients to send messages on the go, and then allow Motoblur to track your conversations to help you stay connected.
Additional Flipout’s multimedia features include a 3MP camera with digital zoom and KODAK PERFECT TOUCH technology for better, brighter pictures and gallery mode for tagging and labeling of photos. Along with the improved sound quality on calls, the Flipout features high-quality audio and video playback. With a 2.8” 320×240 TFT LCD screen, you can watch video clips and streaming video on the go, and FM radio support as well as support for common music formats allows you to bring your music with you. It supports playable formats: eAAC+, MP3, MPEG-4, H.264, AAC, WMA9, AAC+, AMR NB, WMA v9. But, I find a question; Motorola Flipout could not support all of video or audio formats. But, what should I do, if I have some files which Flipout could not support. I search it on Google and find good software –Nidesoft Motorola Video Converter which could help to convert your video files to MP4, AVI, WMV, MP3 and play on Motorola phone easily. Below I’ll share you how to use it!
Firstly, download this software and install it.
Step 1: Launch the program and Click "Add File" button to load source video files to be converted

Step 2: make settings: click “format” drop list to select “Motorola MPEG-4 Video (*.mp4)” as output video format. Set your video size and quality under the preview window.
Step 3:  Click "Convert" button to start to convert video format.
After the file is converted, just transfer the file to the videos folder on your Motorola and enjoy your newly created video. Another, I know Nidesoft DVD to Motorola Converter could rip DVD to Motorola phone video and music: 3GP, AVI, WMV, MP4, WMA etc. So, it is not a problem to watch your favorite DVD on mobile phone. I think these two Nidesoft software are necessary additional software for MOTOROLA mobile phone users.
Additional features of the phone include full Google services including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and access to thousands of apps on the Android Market. The phone ships with a Li-Ion 1170 mAh battery that can provide up to 365 hours of stand-by time and up to 6 hours of talk time.
Summarize
After Backfip, MOTOROLA FLIPOUT is another personalized design with the Android system mobile phone, of an innovative square pivot design that opens to reveal a five-row QWERTY keypad with a separate row for numeric keys let’s easily remember it. Rich fuselage color also increased the favorable impression of good young users. In addition, FLIPOUT not only show the new construction of MOTOROLA stylist, but also let the Android system take a important step towards diversification

Sprint customers disappointed by the lack of Wi-Fi on last summer's BlackBerry Tour 9650 will be pleased with the latest BlackBerry coming to the network. The BlackBerry Bold 9650 offers Wi-Fi and twice as much memory as the Tour. It also sports a superb keyboard and excellent messaging features and any sports and recreation apps which BlackBerry Company provides. Although badged as a Bold, the styling dimensions and feel of the device point more to a revamped BlackBerry Tour than a CDMA-based version of Bold 9700, which is offered by the GSM-based carriers AT&T and T-Mobile.

Design
The Bold 9650 measures 4.4 inches by 2.4 inches by 0.5 inch thick. At 4.8 ounces, however, it is slightly heavier than the 4.6-ounce Tour. The Bold 9650's body combines a muted chrome bezel with smooth black rubber and textured plastic. The texture contributes to the phone's comfortable in-hand feel. Like the Tour, the Bold 9650 has a 2.4-inch 480-by-360-pixel display.
App
Call Quality – it is spot-on with this version of the Bold. From low to high volume the speaker supports a range of sound from deep to high. The speakerphone is sufficiently loud as well.
Messaging – it is the strongest point of the BlackBerry. Connections to Gmail accounts sync messages and contacts seamlessly. A message sent from a computer will show up as a sent message on the device, which creates an incredibly useful completely current email record at all times.
Wireless – it boasts 802.11b/g, GPS, Bluetooth with profiles for streaming music, and support for UMTS/HSPA, CDMA/EV-DO and GSM based networks.
Operating system – it was announced alongside BlackBerry OS 6.0, it ships with OS 5.0, which we also saw on the BlackBerry Strom 2. BlackBerry OS 6.0 won't ship until Q3. BlackBerry OS 5.0 has sharper icons, brighter colors, and blacker blacks than BlackBerry OS 4.6 (which shipped on the original Bold). The interface is clean and simple to navigate, thanks to its easy-to-identify icons.
Multimedia
The 3.2 megapixel camera on the Bold 9650 features auto-focus, video recording and flash.
Using the camera has been made easier with this model. Previous auto-focus BlackBerrys required users to first focus and then completely presses the key to capture an image. With the Bold the process has been simplified to a simple point and click - the device will focus itself.
Like its siblings, the Bold's multimedia features are fairly middle-of-the-road. The vanilla music player lets you view your library by song, artist, or genre. During playback, a miniature album thumbnail appears. The app also has playlist and shuffle features, and a headphone equalizer. You can download music via Verizon's Rhapsody service.
The advanecd player supports video format including MPEG4 Part 2 Simple Profile, H.263, WMV and audio format such as: MP3, MIDI, AMR-NB, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, WMA, and so on.
While, I find two powerful software to let you enjoy such wonderful experience: Nidesoft BlackBerry Video Converter which could convert video and audio files to your Blackberry movie and music format( for example, you may convert “Vuvuzela” of standing for South Africa World Cup to your ringtone by it) and Nidesoft DVD to BlackBerry Converter which could convert DVD to Blackberry video and music. These powerful BlackBerry Converters supports all the BlackBerry family, including BlackBerry 8800, BlackBerry 8830, BlackBerry 8820, BlackBerry Pearl 8800, BlackBerry Curve 8300, BlackBerry Storm 2, BlackBerry 9700 and even the new released Storm! If you want to enjoy your DVD with Blackberry, you may try it! It is easy to see these two software is the best assistants for Blackberry.
Sports and recreation apps at Blackberry App World
In order to make the fans are better able to watch the South Africa football World Cup, the Blackberry Company launched a lot of software about the game for blackberry user.
“South Africa on BlackBerry” - Enjoy all the action of World Cup Football in South Africa, right on your BlackBerry? with the "South Africa on BlackBerry" app.
“ScoreMobile” - is a true application that's been built from the ground up for all recent BlackBerry? smartphone models. It provide up-to-the-minute sports scores, boxscores, player stats, betting odds, game previews, recaps, top stories, and league standings. In addition we publish exclusive live blogs for key games. Coverage currently includes: American Football (NFL, NCAAF, CFL), Baseball (MLB), Basketball (NBA, NCAAB Men's), Hockey (NHL), Golf (PGA), Auto Racing (NASCAR Sprint Cup, Formula 1) and Soccer (World Cup, EPL, Champions League, Serie A, Liga, MLS). If you have interesting about it, you may get more information from BlackBerry website.
It’s true that RIM hit the mark with the BlackBerry Bold 9650. And the Bold 9650 is the top. It's got a very good keyboard (though small, especially compared to the relative behemoth Bold 9000), good looks, good build quality and rock solid stability. We find the small, relatively high resolution display hard on the eyes, especially when web browsing and would put up with a larger phone to get a bigger screen. But for consumers, I'd say check out the competition before jumping aboard the BlackBerry bandwagon.

Jeudi 10 juin 2010 4 10 /06 /Juin /2010 11:03

Apple CEO Steve Jobs opened the 2010 Worldwide Developers Conference on 8th, June by announcing the latest iPhone incarnation, the iPhone 4G. It will be available exclusively with AT&T starting June 24, with 5 countries at launch (US, France, Germany, UK, Japan), with 18 more following in July. The price with service is fair--US$199 for the 16GB phone or US$299 for the 32GB device--and both models come in white and black versions. Then let’s have a close look at the new iPhone 4G: How does the new iPhone improved compare with the iPhone 3G S?

Display
The iPhone 4G features a 940 * 640-pixel (or 326 pixels per square inch) Apple calls it a "Retina Display", which is four times the resolution of previous iPhone models. It's rated at 326ppi, which Apple claims is beyond the human eye's limit of distinction. Check out an example of the new screen up against the iPhone 3G after the break. Similar to the iPad, it's an IPS display, offering 800:1 contrast. The thickness of it is only 9.3 millimeters, 24% thinner than iPhone 3GS. Apple Company says, iPhone 4G is the thinnest smartphone in the world.
New features of iPhone 4G
Firstly, iPhone 4G comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. With over 100 new features, it includes Multitasking, Folders, enhanced Mail, deeper Enterprise support and Apple’s new iAd mobile advertising platform. With Multitasking, users can now instantly switch between any of their apps while preserving battery life. With Folders, users can easily organize their apps into collections by simply dragging one app on top of another. A folder is automatically created and named based on the category of apps selected. Users can change the name of any folder at any time. In addition, users can now customize their lock and home screens with an array of supplied wallpapers or with any of the photos on their phone.
Secondly, the iPhone 4G will feature the same A4 chip that’s found in the iPad. The result is a faster processor plus improved battery life (its supports seven hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi and up to six hours on 3G, and up to 10 hours of video playback and up to 40 hours of audio playback).
Thirdly, the iPhone 3GS gave us a compass, but the iPhone 4G raises the bar by offering a three-axis gyroscope. Like on an airplane, you'll get pitch, roll, and yaw, and it's tied with the accelerometer to provide six-axis motion sensing. Though by all means it will be useful to app developers, it also just looks like a lot of fun.
Moreover, the iPhone 4G’s front-facing camera is a 640-by-480-pixel camera (three-tenths of a megapixel, if you’re curious) designed to be used primarily with the new FaceTime video-chat system, though it will also work well as a way to take self-portraits. With the FaceTime, you can see your loved ones and friends anywhere there is Wi-Fi. Using FaceTime is as easy as making a regular voice call, with no set-up required, and you can instantly switch to the rear camera to show others what you are seeing with just a tap.
Camera Changes and Powerful Multimedia functions
iPhone 4G features a new 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a 5x digital zoom, a backside illuminated sensor and built-in LED flash that allows you to take amazing pictures even in low light and dark environments. iPhone 4G lets you record and edit incredible HD video and the popular tap to focus feature now works while recording video. You can use the iPhone 4G‘s LED flash for both still photography and video recording. The demo looks great, even if the iPhone isn't the first cell phone to offer this capability.  The new iMovie? app for iPhone lets you combine movie clips, add dynamic transitions and themes and include photos and music, and users can buy it for just $4.99 through the App Store right on their phone.
With its’ build-in powerful multimedia player, iPhone 4G supports lots of audio and video formats. Such as: audio formats: AAC (8 to 320 kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), HE-AAC, MP3 (8 to 320 kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (2, 3 and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV. and video formats: H.264, up to 720 high-definition at a constant frames per second, Main profile up to level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 kbps, 48khz, stereo audio in .M4V, .MP4, and .MOV file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple profile with AAC-LC audio format up to 160 kbps, 48khz, stereo audio in .M4V, .MP4, and .MOV file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, with ulaw audio format and PCM stereo audio in. AVI file format.
But, it is a small shortcoming that iPhone 4G could not play DVDs. If you want to play DVD with it, you may use Nidesoft DVD Ripper which helps you convert DVD to all popular video or audio formats easily to convert DVD files into iPhone 4G compatible formats or you have some video or audio files which iPhone 4G could not support in some case, you may select Nidesoft Video Converter to convert all other video files into iPhone 4G. It is powerful video conversion software which could convert video and audio files between all popular formats. With these two assistant software, you may enjoy your DVD or any video and audio files in iPhone 4G at anytime and anywhere.
Conclusion
Through the above description, we know iPhone 4G have improved much more functions than iPhone 3GS, such as FaceTime, Processor, Camera, Gyroscope and application system and so on. And, “iPhone 4G is the biggest leap since the original iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. So, iPhone 4G is filled with the hope of us. Of course, nobody knows the result before it is published; let’s just wait for its official release date of June 24th.
